Ever since I can remember I’ve had a very unhappy life.
This world can be a place of sorrow; we all know it. Somehow, I thought getting saved was the answer we needed to always be happy.
For years, I thought getting saved would be like having a fairy tale ending type of life because I lived the bad part already!
Bad things will stop happening to us, and now that we are on God’s side, only good things will happen to us. That’s what I thought was supposed to happen. When it didn’t I felt like God shut me out! I wonder now if I was the only one who felt like that.
My Christian mom once told me after I “got saved,” - “Don’t worry, newly saved people are on a honeymoon; the happiness will pass.” Unfortunately, I believed her.
The Good News
My mom was oh so wrong. It did feel authentic, but it wasn’t the reality of the matter.
Faith is not a feeling; it’s believing a fact you can’t see.
Like this fact: 2 Cor.5:17- This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
Now that I know, my version of abundant Life is an abundance of Happy — amid calm or chaos.
Genuine feelings of calm refreshing happiness amid the daily hustle and bustle or even in the middle of your falling apart world. In Christ, you can do hard times and have a smile here and there.
As Philippians 4:11-13 says; Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. 12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance, and need. 13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
No one had ever told me the good news about being a new creation at salvation and what that meant!
All Christians are born again in the Spirit but we still have these earthly bodies with all their auto-pilot workings, habits, mindsets, and thought patterns that are against God! Whoa! That was a big part of my misery.
A new creation trying to live with almost useless instructions. The world programmed us, and since we are now new creatures, we need a new program!
God is patiently drawing and waiting for us to seek His input. He wants to work with His children to minister to others.
And the life that you now live, in this body, should be lived through faith in the Son of God and let God transform your behavior by changing the way you think.
We can start, little by little, as necessary, to Trust our Father. I say that because I know I absolutely did not FEEL Trust in God. I didn’t live by faith and I depended on my old feelings to live my new creation life.
Walking by the Spirit is allowing God to work in our bodies, renewing, and unzipping new download files into our minds! I love it.
It took me a long, miserable time to allow the Holy Spirit to work on my mind. Love is patient. I hope and pray to save some of your time for you and yours.
You can feel Happier here and now. Knowing the truth and walking in it will make you free. I often experience an abundance of Happiness and Joy! It does take time to stop experiencing the old self so much and start living the new self way. The wait is worth it!

I thought this was very well written, many points were touched on here. Very relatable.
I cared for a special needs person for 9 years and some members of the church would tell me, too bad she doesn't understand, so sad for her condition... She was way more perfect than I!
I would often say “I'm the one who is God’s special needs child” .
I think many people are very unsure of just what they believe or how to teach it or take a new Christian under their wing for fear of the blind leading the blind.
I heard it explained recently that we have God's Holy Spirit living in us, so why not take this precious spirit to spend time with his Father, why not invite the Father to come and visit? Do we take good care of His spirit? Do we take responsibility to be kind and loving?
This really helped me to relate better.
I love how you write so articulately, you bring much wisdom and experience to this platform. ❤️✨🙏 And I'm so Happy we have connected in this way.
